The Reception

Destination Wedding, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, February 2007

This is what it’s about- being surrounded by friends & family who are there to celebrate the birth of a marriage & a lifetime of love.  We were lucky enough to have 30 amazing people join us for a weekend of celebrations.

Following the ceremony, we had a cocktail hour with mariachi bands & a cigar roller. It was a great chance to unwind, take a few more photos & get dinner started.  Dad lead the group in a prayer before dinner.

We had a local restaurant serve dinner Brazilian style- they brought all their BBQ pits up & carved meats on our plates.

There were toasts by our maid of honor & best man, followed by chocolate cheescake!

Brenda read an incredible Hands Ceremony & my mom read some poems that she had been writing for 27 years.

Then the dancing- lots of dancing!  We’d taken lessons for over a year.  Our first dance was to the Shania Twain & Brian White duet, From This Moment.  But we also boogied down to some salsa & just about everything else on our iPod playlist.

Sparklers, chocolate cigars, fireworks & many other stories that can’t be shared on the blog!

GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY:  We still can’t believe we had such an amazing wedding that was perfect for us &  perfectly us with all of our friends and family and we still thank them to this day for making the journey to Mexico to be with us as we started our life together.
