In honor of us heading back to Mexico to celebrate Mark & Pam’s wedding, I thought it was about time I shared all our old wedding photos & plastered them all over the blog! We arrived in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico on Thursday February 8th with all of our friends & family in tow. We had mountains of luggage, topped with a wedding dress & accessorized with tubs of decorations for the reception. We made welcome bags with all sorts of goodies for our guests & then promptly hit the pool with them at Dreams Resort to kick off an amazing weekend.
Somehow one of our first stops in PV was at the Hooters with all of H’s groomsmen. They put on quite a show if you give them $5 and ask for a photo. I know that a destination wedding isn’t for every couple, but it was perfect for us! We had such a blast spending a whole weekend soaking up the sun, celebrating with friends & tasting frosty beverages. I was so happy my best friend Stephanie made it down & she quieted my last minute nerves on the morning of the wedding by going out for a jog along the Malecon with me.
The day before the wedding, I headed to the salon with the girls for a makeup trial & the guys all went out fishing. They didn’t catch much but a bit of seasickness. Dad & company made it down to Mexico for the kids first trip out of the country & they did a little boat tour on their own before the rehearsal.
I can’t rave enough about Dreams resort- it was amazing! Gorgeous location, great food, excellent service. We knew we wanted a destination wedding, but H wanted the beach & I wanted the mountains. Puerto Vallarta fit the bill for having both & Dreams is surrounded by some amazing cliffs, lush forest mountains & giant waves breaking on the beach. It’s so wonderful to just be walking around & see all your friends and family there, laughing, having a great time, enjoying vacation.
Another plus- we happened to have some family down in PV already! John’s cousin even offered to throw us a welcome party at their amazing condo high up on the hillside. We ate, drank, laughed, danced, awed at the view & got working on our celebratory mood.
GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: We’re off to Mexico this morning with all of our friends for Mark’s wedding!
