A bonus, super-duper, fun post for Friday! It’s all about last week’s homecoming for my brother & sister. My brother just started dating this girl on the volleyball (and soccer!) team, so he upped the ante over last year’s cookie invitation by making a giant banner that he took to her game a few weeks ago to ask her to the big dance. He was even sweet enough to take flowers for her & some photos of the whole proposal!

On the the mum. If you don’t know what a homecoming mum is, check out mine from high school. They are still getting bigger & bling-ier. I stopped by the house as Haley was helping Hunter put some finishing touches on Kylee’s mum before he took it to her house so she could wear it to school on Friday. All sorts of ribbons of every shape, size, type and flair involved. A little bear kicking a soccer ball & hitting a volleyball. A disco ball. Some bobcat footprints. More ribbon. A volleyball & soccer tag. Their names. Some bible verses. A few bells & noise makers. It had everything!

Hunter was very proud of his mum & exchanged it for the garter he will wear. Now Haley got to go on her first real date & he had a mum for her too. This was a picture of the kids on Friday as they left for school.

So Haley’s *friend* (cause she’s NOT allowed to have a boyfriend yet!) is a cute kid in the 8th grade. She went to his football game, where he is quarterback, on Tuesday & they exchanged trinkets and she received the sweetest little note from him. Her mum had the stuffed animals & lots of ribbons, their names & a white feather boa- which was just up her alley. They both went to the homecoming game together on Friday night to watch the big football game.

Bless the iPhone for all the candid shots, especially of Hunter & Kylee at school. His garter was very cute & had some crosses on it for him.

The real BIG DEAL is the dance on Friday night! Don’t they make a cute couple in their matching purple outfits!

Haley & her group, who still require a chaperone & a set of wheels, met up at the park before heading to dinner & then finally the dance.

Hunter, on the other hand, has his own wheels & was on his dream date that night!

It was just them & 1 other couple that opted for a quiet Italian dinner before the big dance. Both kids stayed a while at the dance & then headed out for small parties afterwards…
All in all, it was a hugely successful (happy & drama-free!) homecoming for both kids….
GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: I’ve finally found a really easy collage maker & I love doing these photo collages for my blog posts.
