Sunday Scribblings #235: The prompt for this week isn’t one you’ve seen before, but I hope that it is one that will help you remember! It’s flashback time.

I love flashbacks! That’s one of the main reasons I decided to start blogging, as a quasi-journal & a place to store all my photos. I even already have a flashback category that needs some more posts. I need to do more flashbacks to older photos. I have scanned a bunch more & love posting them while reminiscing about the good old days.
With homecoming for my brother & sister being this weekend, I’ve had many flashback to my own homecoming & what I was doing at their age. I only went to my Senior Homecoming & not to any of the others. Ahhh..high school! Those were the fun times.
Another flashback is that we went country dancing last night. And by that I mean we went to a bar/club for a friends’ birthday party & mostly watched other people dancing!
(( I totally grew up dancing- it’s just a part of growing up in Texas. My parents & grandparents always went dancing when I was growing up. I remember attending my anniversary parties with my grandparents up in the hill country & all the couples in their 60′s & 70′s and even 80′s still out on the dance floor cutting a rug! I remember my parents would drop me & my girl friends off at the local VFW hall or other dance place when I was 14 and 15. I took many laps around the dance floor in high school, and it wasn’t until I went to college in Georgia that I realized most people do line-dancing to country music in other parts of the country! I was appalled- after all, wasn’t the point of dancing to get close with the boys!?!? When I got back to Texas, I found an awesome little dance club by my apartment & I took dance lesson with a wonderful teacher for a long time. After college, back in Houston, I took several years worth of classes, some by myself, some with an ex-boyfriend & eventually some with H, at SSQQ. We did months of two-stepping & lots of waltz/polka classes before we took a few months of salsa lessons right before our wedding. Last night I looked at all the couples gliding happily around the dance floor & decided that all I want for Christmas is some boots & to dance blissfully around the with the man of my dreams for the rest of my life.
GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: Another gorgeous day here in Texas & I’m getting caught up on chores and business with the windows wide open.
