We were running late from our afternoon of sightseeing, so we hopped a cab across town to the game & ended up walking due to traffic.

It was great that many of the streets were blocked off & people were streaming in over the bridges near PNC Park.

I love the giant old bridges with their formidable iron works….we just don’t have anything like that in Houston!

We walked out over the river before the game to enjoy the view & were jealous of all the people hanging out on their boats below us.

As it was the 4th of July weekend, there was a cool fly-over of some military jets….  F-16′s maybe?

Off in the distance, there was a neat retaining wall that had a changing advertisement on it- I’d never seen anything like it before.

Hubby was very excited to see another park on his list & it was a perfect way to end our tour of Pittsburgh.

Back across the Allegheny River, all the pleasure boaters were lining up for the big fireworks show (which we didn’t know was about to happen).

Love my best friend!  I actually laugh because I think there were more Phillies fans at the game than Pirates fans- they are some loyal sports fanatics!

GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY:  Homecoming football game tonight- we are going to try to go since we haven’t been to a high school football game in more than a decade!
