The Heinz History Center was directly on the front stop of our hotel & we had about half an hour to kill before our bus tour started, so we decided to do a speed-tour of the place.

Not sure if this is original warehouse that was converted, but it was a really cool area with neat old delivery trucks & would be awesome for a wedding reception.

We briefly stopped by a great photography exhibit with recent current events from the local newspaper in Pittsburgh- there’s been a lot going on there in the past few years.

The retro glass art exhibit looked interesting, but we only had a few minutes and wanted to spend it exploring the great world of ketchup!

The man, the myth, the legend- Mr. Heinz and his ketchup franchise were the focus of a huge and fun exhibit.

Lots of history about the evolution of ketchup and many other popular food products. There were games & hands-on activities for kids.

It’s interesting to think about a time when mass produced food products were a new, novelty thing and how cooking has changed with the modern kitchen.

Lots of neat stuff here- more than just the history of the company, it was a neat look back at how American culture has changed and it so closely tied to our food.

The museum was a quick filler activity until our bus arrived & we didn’t have time to visit many of the other exhibits, but the Heinz display was well put together and an interesting stroll through history.
GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: Took the plunge & I now officially own Photoshop CS5! Now I need to learn how to use it….
