Our main reason to visit this area was to stop by their University of Washington- Tacoma campus. I loved how it is nestled right into town & amongst some lovely landscaping.

They took many old buildings in this area and transformed them into classrooms & offices, while revitalizing this whole area in general.

Just something special about gorgeous old brick buildings with giant windows.

My aunt works in this building & all the adjacent buildings have been connected together on the inside while retaining their original character on the outside.

You could see where various buildings were spliced together & many of the original elements of the buildings were kept while also opening up some ceilings to create dramatic heights and let light in through upper windows.

UW-Tacoma is a pretty small campus, but they are growing rapidly. I love the intimate feel of shared spaces & the neat art displays all around.
GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: A perfect Saturday- relaxing, catching up, hanging out and packing.
