After Spokane, we started driving west & spent the night night in a cute little town called Wenatchee. I went out for a 6 mile run along the Columbia River & enjoyed the beautiful scenery & cooler temperatures.
A sight you don’t see everyday in my neck of the woods- poles for lineman to practice their climbing skills. I think the annual Lineman Rodeo was the following weekend & they were having a big fair/party.
How cool are boat houses? I passed this one that looked like it had weathered many seasons. On my way back, there were actually people putting away their kayaks after a morning paddle.
There were tons of trails all along the river and several parks along the way, including this xeriscape which needed little water to produce beautiful flowers.
I passed this giant old building- part of their agri-business in this region of the country. It looked abandoned, but when I ran back by it, there were truck unloading crates of apples.
So serene, so ideal, so cool! Great to run with such a beautiful surrounding.
There’s only 1 bridge in town to cross the river & that’s not it. I ran to this bridge only to discover it’s a pedistrian bridge and also support for a 4′ diameter (gas?) pipe across the river.
Following the path & running across the bridge, I could see the only other vehicular bridge in town.
Funny thing on my way back, I had to stop for a train crossing & what came flying by? A plane! I was up in Boeing country, so I guess it’s a new toy being shipped out.

There was a whole section of the trail that had a family feel- benches, a train ride for kids, play ground, art exhibits & sculptures.
GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: It’s Friday & a long weekend with plans for relaxing and hanging out with friends!
