Back in Christchurch, we opted to stay at a downtown hotel this time instead up on the outskirts at a B&B. This gave us another opportunity to wonder around the quaint downtown area & stroll the river.
We came upon this cool looking church only to discover it is now a restaurant called The Octogon Live . It was too early for dinner, but I peeked inside & loved that they still had the organ.

To coincide with Chinese New Year, they were having a Chinese Lantern Festival in the down town park.

We intended to come back after dark to see them all aglow, but it just didn’t happen as it gets dark so late in the summer.

There was even a cool lantern of the Christchurch skyline.

Christchurch Clocktower, New Zealand
On our way back to the airport, we passed this beautiful old clocktower. The Diamond Jubilee Clocktower is one of the most beautiful & ornate I’ve seen in a long time.

More buildings like this one make me feel like we are either in England or a Harry Potter movie.
GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: Made it through the 500 wedding photos from this weekend.
