Last weekend we headed downtown on Sunday after church to catch a Houston Astros game with some friends. We went in through this entrance to the park, which was filled with kiddie games & AC.

Minute Maid Park is themed after our old downtown train station, with many details set to look like you are headed on an old-fashioned journey.

We’ve got the usual array of flashing boards & advertisements plastered in the outfield.

For once, a picture of me & none of the hubby.

We were seated a few rows behind the “super special” section & just to the left of home plate.

These were great seats & I’d never sat here with H before.

We saw lots of this- scoring! First game I’d been to in ages where the team did well.

I’m more entertained with the fun stuff, like the salsa packet races, than the baseball game itself.

I was hoping for a homerun so the train would fire up and chug across the outfield.

Gotta have the good giveaways!

We should see the organist sitting by us- I never knew it was a real guy on a real organ.

I love our outfield & score box- the old timey feel of the real number boards being put up for each game & not to mention it’s surrounded (sponsored by) all my favorite restaurants.

The absolute best part of the stadium- the roof! You’ve got to have it in Houston in the summer.

There’s a nice view of the Houston skyline out the windows when they aren’t so bright.

It’s not a game in Texas until you’ve sung “Deep in the Heart of Texas”.
GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: Hubby found a bunch of old photos that I get to scan.
