After our trek on Fox Glacier, we headed to the neighboring town of Franz Josef to see the Franz Josef Glacier.

The ice cave as the face of the glacier is an opening to the river flowing beneath the glacier.

The cave opening is massive when you see the teeny-tiny people walking around down there.

We also saw groups of people hiking on top of the glacier too.

The upper reaches had a thin layer of afternoon clouds & more hanging glacier.

Our drive between the towns was quite an adventure- only a few miles, but very windy & slow. The road into the park had dozens of speed bumps & the trail up to the lookout point was a cool natural tunnel.
GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: Going to the chapel & our friend is getting married today.

Goin’ to the chapel and someone else is gettin’ maaaaaaried …
