Driving NZ’s West Coast

Driving in New Zealand is awesome for many reasons- not the least of which is happy, friendly construction workers like this guy.

There was a stretch of road right along the water’s edge where there were thousands of stacked rock sculptures.

Various sticks and other objects were carefully placed among the creations.

I loved the way the coast looked here with the waves crashing on the wood strewn beach & the muted forests in the background.

Quite a few people pulled over to examine the numerous stone piles.

Many of them had personal messages or notes written on them.

These trees further up the coast looked like something out of a movie.

Right before arriving into Fox Glacier, we went across a rather large one-way bridge.  The first few we crossed on our journey made us a bit nervous, but you get comfortable quickly as you most cross so many to drive around the South Island of New Zealand.

GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: Officially signed up for a short Photoshop Elements webinar next week to kick my training into high gear.
