Lesson on Rodeo Fashion

In case you were thinking about visiting Houston to check out our amazing Livestock Show & Rodeo, I thought I’d give you some fashion advice. I know it might be a bit over-whelming if all these boots, spurts and hats are new to you, but a few pictures should help you be dressed appropriately for any cowboy affair. A good place to start is with a long-sleeve, button down shirt with a collar and add some embroidery.

Although a dog is a perfectly acceptable accessory for most occasions, I wouldn’t recommend it for Rodeo attire.

You can go with a plain shirt jazzed up with a very snazzy jacket with a large applique on it.

You can wear anything you want if you are in the band, but watch out for road hazards as you march.

If you happen to win the title of Ms. Texas, I’m sure you are very beautiful….

…but it’s NEVER appropriate to wear 4″ heels while riding a horse.

Tassels are still quite the rage here at Rodeo time- feel free to put them on your jacket or your chaps.

Feel free to go with a bright colored tasseled, jacket and match your accessories, like your hat and gloves.

Feel free to throw in a little bit of Indian style into your clothing, but make sure your jeans have extra starch and you can visibly see the crease in the front.

This is just a NO. No NO NO NO NO for so many reasons…

When at the parade or rodeo, extra points may be earned for coordinating attire.

Double bonus points for coordinated horses.

Feel free to accessorize your horses and make sure they get plenty of bling too.

These are rodeo clowns & they protect the bullriders. Please don’t confuse them with acceptable fashion standards.

And cute kids are allowed to wear overalls. Overall should NOT be worn by adults.

GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: There are zero fashion rules at Disney & I’ve had a blast!
